[Your] Community Foundation: Professional Advisors Reference Manual

Part of the Professional Advisors e-Resource, this Reference Manual has been developed as a template so that each community can customize the relevant information to reflect their own foundation's situation.

The Manual is an opportunity to introduce to professional advisors in your community the history and role of your community foundation, and to provide detail on the advantages of giving to the foundation, the types of funds maintained by the foundation, the gift types and instrument options available, as well as sample agreement forms.

You may open and save the document in the best format for wordprocessing at your foundation. You can then adapt and add to the copy as required, and format with your foundation's logo, contact details and business number, or print directly on your foundation's letterhead.

Open and save the best format for your foundation:

You may wish to post an electronic copy on your Web site or print copies to share with the professional advisors in your community. If you post the document on your Web site, you will want to post it in PDF (Portable Document Format), so that no one accessing the document can modify it. A wordprocessing document can be converted to PDF using the Adobe Writer (most of us use the Adobe Reader, a free PDF viewer, to open and read PDFs). If you do not have this software at your foundation, you should ask the designer or printer that you use to handle your publication materials if they can do it for you.
