Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough names its Executive Director

Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough names ANDREA DICKS founding Executive Director
PETERBOROUGH, December 3, 2009 - The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Dicks as its founding Executive Director, effective January 18, 2010.
Ms. Dicks will lead the Foundation in its mission to connect philanthropically minded community members with causes that matter. “We are delighted that Andrea, a dynamic, well respected non-profit professional, and life-long volunteer, has taken on the new challenge of leading our organization,” said Board Chair, Bill Lockington.
“Andrea is a results oriented leader with experience in strategic grant making and a creative, unique perspective from roles in both the non-profit and corporate philanthropy sectors,” adds Lockington. “We believe Andrea's successful track record and her understanding of our community make her an excellent choice to lead our Foundation as we strive to positively impact the Peterborough region.”
Ms. Dicks is a native Peterborough resident and graduate of Trent University. In recent years, she has held leadership positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Toronto & Central Ontario. She returns to Peterborough to assume her new role where she will have responsibility for the overall effectiveness of the Foundation’s operations, executive management, financial success and sustainability.
According to Julie Davis, President and CEO, Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation, and chair of the search committee, “Andrea’s enthusiasm, passionate commitment to philanthropy, and her desire to help build a thriving Peterborough community will all contribute to an exciting era for the Foundation.”
"I am honoured to be appointed Executive Director,” Ms. Dicks commented. “The Steering Committee and Board of Directors have built the cornerstone for a strong Community Foundation. I'm inspired by the immense possibility for this organization and for the people and communities that it serves. I look forward to continuing the work of this dedicated group of volunteers.”
