Community Leadership

Building Community Vitality: A Leadership Toolkit is a web-based resource developed by Community Foundations of Canada with the cooperation of other community philanthropy experts and organizations from around the world.

These are exciting and challenging times for our communities and as community foundations we must think creatively, above and beyond our granting, to the myriad of roles that we can play in the community - as convenors, partners, innovators and catalysts.

Objectives

Building Community Vitality: A Leadership Toolkit offers two things to organizations interested in exploring community leadership:

• A substantial, and growing, collection of current and user-friendly tools, resources and wisdom regarding community leadership
• A structure for exploring the permutations and possibilities for taking on a leadership role in your community, no matter the size and/or scope of your organization

Impact

The website that houses Building Community Vitality: A Leadership Toolkit was designed specifically for community foundations, but other philanthropic organizations may also find it helpful.

We hope it will inspire and assist others on their own journey to building more vital communities.
