A Toolkit on Poverty for Community Foundations
From Good Causes to Root Causes is a practical online resource designed to help funders better understand and address poverty in Canadian communities. It helps funders prepare, implement and evaluate a strategy to respond to poverty in their community. Background information, discussion questions, and lessons learned all figure prominently.
The toolkit was funded by the Government of Canada's Social Development Partnerships Program and developed with CFC members that are at various stages of their own work on poverty.

Community Outreach and Dialogue
Helps community foundations reach out and engage diverse groups more fully in their foundation.
The guide contains a simple 10-step outline; details to help navigate each step; and stories from two community foundations that have begun to pilot this approach. It also includes Convening for Community Foundations, a paper that summarizes basic information to be considered when beginning to think about convening and compilation of stories that illustrate how community foundations are meeting the philanthropic goals of donors.
